Tiler in Riyadh

Tiling a floor, redoing a bathroom, or fitting porcelain? Here are rough prices per square metre, the difference between labour-only and all-in prices, and what to agree with the tiler.

How much does tiling cost per m² in Riyadh?

Most tilers charge per square metre. Careful: there's a "labour only" price (you buy the materials) and an "all-in" price, and the difference is big.

ServiceRough price
Labour only, standard ceramicFrom SAR 16 – 20 per m²
Labour only, porcelain (large tiles)SAR 50 – 80 per m²
All-in, standard ceramic floorSAR 40 – 180 per m²
Floor preparation (levelling or removing old tiles)Adds SAR 15 – 30 per m²

💡 When comparing quotes, make sure they're the same kind: labour only or all-in? Do they include adhesive, cement and grout?

🧮 Buy about 10% extra tiles for cuts and breakage, all from the same batch so the colour matches.

A rough guide from 5 sources in Saudi Arabia (October 2026), including Riyadh tilers' ads and price guides. Sources sometimes mix up material and fitting prices, so the ranges are wide. The final price is agreed between you and the tiler. Laqeeni doesn't set prices or take commission.

Common problems and what usually causes them

A hollow sound when you tap a tile

The tile isn't fully bedded (there's a gap under it). It may crack over time, so it's best relaid.

Uneven tiles or raised edges

The floor wasn't levelled or no levelling tools were used. Check before the adhesive sets.

Water stands on the bathroom floor

The slope towards the drain is wrong. It must be set during tiling; fixing it later is hard.

Grout goes black or cracks

Cheap grout or too much water. Water-resistant grout is better for bathrooms and kitchens.

A tile cracked or broke

Usually a gap underneath, or something heavy fell on it. Keep spare tiles of the same type to replace it.

Tile colour differs between boxes

Tiles from different batches. Open the boxes and compare before fitting, and buy the full amount at once.

Before you agree with any tiler

  1. Labour only or all-in?

Agree clearly: labour only, or including materials? Get it in writing with the price per m².

  2. Measure the area

Measure together before and after the job, especially if you're paying per m².

  3. Preparation and removal

Is removing old tiles and levelling included, or extra? Who takes away the rubble?

  4. Slope in the bathroom

Ask them to show you the slope towards the drain before they finish the bathroom.

  5. How long?

How many days will it take, and when can you walk on the tiles?

  6. Photos and reviews

Look at real past work, and pay attention to the grout lines and edges in the photos.

Make your tiles last

Don't walk on them too soon

Let the adhesive set for as long as the tiler says before walking on it or moving furniture back.

Use the right cleaner

Very strong products damage the grout and the shine. Use a cleaner suited to the tile.

Keep spare tiles

A box or a few tiles of the same type will save you if one breaks.

Waterproof the bathroom

Before tiling a bathroom, make sure the waterproofing under the tiles is done properly.

Common questions

Ceramic or porcelain?

Porcelain is stronger and harder-wearing, good for floors and busy areas. Ceramic is cheaper and fine for walls and lighter areas.

How long does tiling a bathroom take?

A normal bathroom usually takes 3 to 5 days, including removing the old tiles, waterproofing, tiling and grouting.

Does Laqeeni take commission?

No. Laqeeni is a directory that connects you with the tiler directly. You agree and pay between you.
